    Daytime Running Light Replacement?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I was wondering if there are any replacement lights for the Daytime running lights (DRL). I have Bi-Xenon lights and I wanted them to match the rest of my lights similar to the Xenon match Titanium bulbs.

This was the only thread I found, but these will most likely set off a bulb out warning on the DIS. I was just looking for a set of bulbs that are plug and play. Any suggestions?

i have piaa 1156 xtreme whites. not quite xenon match, but way whiter than the stock. be careful when you install. i had one bulb that was not locked in all the way. it started to sag and the bulb was touching the housing. did a little melting of the housing and burn marks on the bulb socket, but nothing major. glad i caught it when i did. but since then, i've gotten a bit paranoid, so i turned the drl's off.

either way, my buttafuoco led citylights look awesome, so i've made it a habit to just turn those on when i start up the car instead of the drl's.

    Re: Daytime Running Light Replacement?

yeah, check out the thread eMacPaul linked.

Buttafuoco is a member on here that did us a great service by custom fabricating a plug-n-play LED citylight solution (prior to those zizi ones being sold by ECS tuning). he did a one-time-only deal for us on here, and his lights work without any problems whatsoever. never heard anyone complain about his lights, expect for those complaining about the price... but hey, considering the problems people are having with other "plug-n-play LED lights", i think they were well worth it!

Just make sure you've got the live pin at the bottom of the bulb well sprung up, cos the solder at the bottom of the bulb can get hot, melts and then if the live connector isn't properly sprung the connection is lost and your car can read that the bulb is out.....and you have to take it all apart to do as I've said

I'm replacing my PIAA's with some nice bright led's tomorrow afternoon.....
I've always said - "One day I'll be able to afford a BMW, and when that day comes I'm gonna buy an Audi"

    Re: Daytime Running Light Replacement?

Are there any LED replacements that don't get a "bulb out" error? Can this be removed via Vag com?
