A4 grill --> S4 grill

Hi,

I want to replace my stock upper and lower A4 grill (radiator and air guide).
The radiator grill is plug and play no adjustements there.
But the lower grill isn't plug and play.
What do i have to do to fit a S4 grill on a A4 bumper (without replacing the bumper)

I'm pretty sure you have to replace the entire thing. The S4 and USP bumpers are different from the stock A4 and will require modification to your car if you want them. If I'm wrong though, someone will correct me. Do a search. There's also a DIY on changing to a USP front.

The Center Lower S4 Grill is Physically larger, it will not fit a a4 bumper.

In a ordinary A4 bumper it wont fit.
If you got the s-line bumper you can make it fit by a few small mods ;)

And if you modify de S4 grill (making it smaller).
And then put the chrome "thingy" from the original A4 grill on it?

To fit the S4 grill i will cut some pieces of the grill and try to modify it so it fits in to the stock grill.
I will post a picture if it works like that and look good
and if it looks like crap well than ....

This is what i already did.

here you can see on the pic, upper grill is S4 lower A4.


I cut a piece of the S4 grill so that the size is like an A4 grill.


This is wht it looks like now (its not finished).




I have to modify the corners and the attachment points to get the grill in the stock A4 trim.
Hope it works or else i fucked up a perfectly good S4 lower grill.

damn i just bought a s4 grill thinking both parts would fit perfectly. damn it! well luckily im planning on getting a USP front too. Does anyone know how hard that swap will be?

I failed in modifying my lower S4 grill into a Stock A4 bumper.( I f*cked up the grill)
I still want an lower S4 grill in my stock A4 bumper does somebody, anybody have an idea?

You can do both.

But personal I still prefer to choose for modifying the grill instead of the bumper.

I used small black zipties. I drilled the hole through the post and ran it behind the vertical posts so you can't see them. It will make sense when you look down at the grille.

thats pretty much how i did mine, i also had the bumper removed at the timeit made things easier
