If you still have a small port head, you need a transition.

why bother? The plenum is the same size as ours
And has the same bad flow. Not to mention the stock throttle body... If you want to do something useful with it have the runners cut off and a custom plenum made.

Or just sell the aeb and get issam's intake manifold

as much as I agree, I think that the big port intake mani will still show a small gain... O and I dont think our stock TB is as big of a restriction as people think

not saying there's no gain - just saying that i think it could be put to better use.
and yes, that TB is a restriction.... that's like saying that having a 2" test pipe doesn't matter as long as the rest of your exhaust is 3" IMO (not LITERALLY doing that, but you get the point)

    Re: Installing AEB intake manifold

thanks guys. Ya im sure isams intake manifold is alot better but i dont have the money to be dropping a grand with the throttle body on that. Im getting this one for like 80 or 90 bucks and its already powdercoated black. so i think its a good but and i hope i can see some small gains. but im kinda pissed about the transition thing that sux. but thanks again guys

The throttle body is 60mm=~2.4"... Thats not a huge deal... I know of an A4 with a stock intake manifold and TB making 500+awhp on pump

    Re: Installing AEB intake manifold

Garden hose or fire house the same amount of water goes thru the pin hole when there is the same amount of pressure. So changing to a larger runner is not going to help unless you increase the size of the port.

Its very simple, smallest spot is always going to be your biggest restriction.

Clint you always seem to talk about cars that you show no proof of. Just like the super fast ass A4 that races in NY but yet none of the S4 guys in that area that race on the streets know anything about it.

How come none of these high hp A4's seem to show up at any of the Audi/VW race events or even the largest Import races held at E-town which is right in their back yard. Do these cars have a hard time getting out of your dreams?
