NEED HELP FAST!! Short shifter

hey guys, sorry if this in in the wrong forum but i need help with my ebay short shifter install. I'm at the step where i'm reinstalling and i connected the shift linkage and the shifter moves up and down inside the pivoting ball still. It came in two pieces but i don't know how to keep it from moving up and down, did i forget to install a piece? I looked on the b&m website for directions but they don't have them on there anymore for the a4. So if anyone can email me the directions if they have them or know of what i'm talking about it would be greatly appreciated! there should be a little groove on the shaft if you hold it up and there is a clip that goes above the ball in the groove that holds it up so it wont slide down

got it.... Thanks man! Couldn't find the groove at first but I got it, which hole did you mount yours in for the bottom shifter part? The part where it's 3 holes for both pieces.
