My car alarm does not chirp when I press the lock button on my remote. Is there a way to enable the chirp after pressing/enabling the alarm? Is there a Vag Com tweek code I can use to enable the chirp?

Yep, I think it's either a coding option or an adaptation channel value in the Comfort/Conveinience Module. If for some reason it's disabled, it can be re enabled. More likely, is that the alarm horn is bad.

Yeah, if it has worked in the past, your horn module is probably bad. That thing has its own battery inside AFAIK.

oh really? I just tried to enable the chirp and nothing.. it must be the horn... anyone have a diy fix for this problem?

btw, I bought the car used and never heard the chirp... but realized there's suppose to be an alarm chirp and now want the confirmation it gives.

I think the "fix" is to replace the module.

It's a dedticated unit located in the lower right rear corner of the trunk under the side panel, and is mounted to sound off through an opening under the bumper.
