    Curious about cooling vents

What exactly is being cooled by the vents located right by the fog lights on B7 S4s? I was just reaching in and cleaning leaves out. I noticed what looked like small radiators on both sides.

    Re: Curious about cooling vents

Those are additional water radiators - the main radiator doesn't have enough cooling capacity.

    B6 S4's & B7 RS4's have them as well.

You do have an oil cooler also

If you are going to correct people for their spelling, at least use proper grammar.

    ^^

Although I appreciate most of your informative posts, you sure know how to rub someone the wrong way! Just like you, I was messing around with my post as well.

We always joked about you Glen Ellyn people being snobs... thanks for confirming.

There is actually a difference between not knowing how to spell something and accidentally hitting the wrong keys. Fitz totally didn't know how to spell that word and just wrote what he thought was correct. Boost just made a typo.

    Re: Curious about cooling vents

I removed my fog lights to get better flow across the auxiliary rad. Actually I sold the fogs for way more then they were worth and I just never replaced them. There is lots more room for air to go past now. Not that it needs the extra air but i figgured it couldn't hurt and I NEVER used the fogs

ahhh...sorry wheaton...interweb is horrible for these kind of jokes. you can never tell. i was just kind of heated from the S4 S/C vs RS4 thread. i will try to keep to what i do instead of messing with people. i'll leave it up to MOF.

and yes Raudi...he just spelled it the way he thought...but i think thats how everyone does it....whether they do t3h sp3llinG right or wrung
i was just using your defining terms....Please spell check your posts and replies if you are unsure. Don't want it to get out that Audi owners can't spell.
    maybe he wasn't unsure.

Where exactly is this again? Below the engine in the airflow under the car?

Its where the front fog lights are. The fog lights are mounted on the vent grills within the front bumper.

It's an oil to water heat exchanger, not an oil cooler so it's doesn't have to be in the airflow.

This device is only air to oil cooled, there is no water involved.
It is located on the passenger Front Side (not below) of the engine.
Behind the other radiators attached to the engine block side.
1 oil line in, 1 oil line out, air cooled only with no water jackets.
