I have a questions for the VF guys. Probably a dumb one but I plan to purchase this pretty much as soon as its out of beta and I want to know what exactly we are getting. What is up with the intercooler looking thing. (black end with two connections that look like they go to water lines that slides into the main red housing of the unit.) Its before the compression happens so the air would be at outside temps anyway and I can't see putting another rad into make a Air-Water-Air intercooler setup make sense. It almost seems like you are running the cooling system though there but that doesn't make any sense, it would just just be heating up the air prior to compressing it and heating it up more...

The charge cooler (L-T-A Intercooler) is not pre-charger. The supercharger is mounted under the intake mani. The intake to the blower is in the back (connected to stock air box) and the outlet for the blower is on top which feeds through the charge cooler (bottom of the intake mani) and then into the runners in the intake mani (top of the intake mani) down the runners (side of the intake mani) down into the head.

Ahh. That makes more sense. I was picturing the flow happening the opposite direction. Is there a separate radiator, pump and coolant for the charge cooler?

Yes there is a heat exchanger that mounts in front of the radiator on the bottom (behind the opening on bumper). The 3 current beta cars are using the windshield washer fluid tank (this is temporary until the production injection molded tanks are finished) as the tank to hold the water for the charge cooler. If you look at the pics you can see the line running from the tank to the cooler. There is a stand alone water pump as well for the setup with it's own relay.

Wait a minute... so this means that you loose your windshield washer tank when you install this kit? I'm not liking that at all. As much as I want the power I also want a car that has all of its functionality intact. Please tell us that there's a solution to this worked out for production that leaves this system intact!

Yes there is a solution. The 3 current beta cars are using the windshield washer tank because the production injection molded VF tank isn't finished yet. The current setup is just temporary. Sorry should have been more clear in my post above.

IMO- it would be strange if the final version did not address this. (Separate tank... right?) Not being able to clean off your windshield while driving is annoying and dangerous.
