    Audi 90 Manual tranny to A8 4.2 V8?

    Hi,

I'm an Audi newbie so please pardon my ignorance. Will the manual transmission from a 93-95 Audi 90 Quattro bolt up to the 4.2 V8? If so, will the flywheel bolt up as well?

I tried a search here to no avail.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Try asking on the 90 and or A8 forums.

you should ask on audiworld or something. The classic Audis and A8 population here on AZ is extremely low.

    It should fit.

I know a guy that pulled a 2.8L out of a 90 Quattro and dropped in a V8. The Coupe Quattro trans has the same bolt pattern as well, those have had more than one V8 swap.
The multi-bolt pattern Audi trans should fit.

That being said. The flywheel is different. It will fit in the bellhousing, but the the actual flywheel itself has a different bolt pattern.

It will bolt to the engine but the torque of that engine will quickly make scrap metal out of that transmission. (in other words don't do it).

That can't be, the B5 transmission will not bolt up to an RS6, and the RS6 was made in 2003.
