Thinking about getting Water/Meth Injection

I have an 04 A4 1.8T with multitronic and stage 1 apr. I am getting Audi tt225 386cc injectors in a little while. I was also thinking about getting water/meth injection. Would I notice power gains? Is it safe on the engine? I do have a 93 oc. and 100+ oc. tunes on my tuning. Would I need to get it retuned. I know I could run it on 100+ all day on 93 octane. How much power gains would there be? What kind of kit do I need? (Preferably under $400) Would I be able to install it myself with basic knowledge? Does it spray the whole time you're driving, or just when you flip a switch or when you are on the gas? And one last question, how often would I need to refill the water/meth tank, and do I fill it with just normal winshieldwasher fluid?

Hey Cameron... I have the exact same car as you.. CVT and all.

First thing you're going to want a FMIC.. you're going to need the metal piping to tap the nozzle for the meth. With a FMIC+Meth my Intake Temp was 44*F when the outside temp was 60*F

I noticed a GREAT gain with adding the meth kit and advancing my timing with Lemmiwinks. I did a timed run last night with a friend and a stopwatch and my rolling 5-60 time was 5.1 seconds.

I got the Snow Performance stage 1 ($300) and you hook up a vacuum line to it, and you can adjust it so it sprays at boost. I have mine set to like ~11psi. I use my windshield wiper reservoir and 1 gallon lasted me over a month. You CAN use windshield wiper fluid... but I was able to advance timing a bit more with the 50/50 "Boost Juice"

I say that Meth is definitely one of the best bang for the buck mods you can do.. definitely the most underrated.

OH.... I just looked at your sig and your mods. You're going to want to complete your bolt ons first and then add meth. You'll feel the biggest difference. Get the 1+ reflash, FMIC, and Exhaust.

How hard and how long did it take you to install the kit? And with the ebay FMIC, how did you mount it?
I also need to know where I can purchase fuel injectors for my A4, if you know a place off the top of your head.
I should be getting and installing everything around December. Temperature will be around high 40's to low 50's.

Anyway... It wasn't really hard but I've done a lot of mods and am comfortable doing pretty much anything with my car aside from an engine pull. It took me maybe 4 or 5 hours but that's because there's a lot of wiring involved and I soldered and heatshrunk everything and tried to make the install as clean as possible. You can barely see two wires running down the side of the engine bay whereas there's like 10 in the harness.

Exhaust cutout is a bad idea you will loose 5-12 hp,I have this proven on a dyno.. just get full exhuast ..Dont be impatient get quality parts, our cars dont respond well to cheap mods..Snow performance makes quality kits heres the link to the stage 2 http://www.snowperformance.net/products.php?p_cat=158

So what part of Conroe are you in? I'm near the Woodlands, I live in Benders Landing. I've been looking into the Meth. inj. also and it sounds like the hot setup but where did you find it for $275. On the Snow Performance web site it $450 (stage 2).


BTW....lets see a pic of your car so I can identify you on the road.

Mines pretty plain, the only things visible that are different on mine are the x-drilled and slotted rotors (just did the rotors) and the Remus exhaust. I have some 18" wheels but they need refinishing.

The CVT is the 163bhp version. Yes it can take the power... My car has no noticeable changes in driving and pulls (very) hard.

You will pull a GT The other night some ricer flies up next to me and then just decided we were racing so he begins to pull away as I'm doing 60. He gets a couple car lengths away so I went for it and within 5 seconds I had reeled him in and put a train on him.

I actually live in Montgomery, it's right outside of Conroe. But I still live on lake Conroe. The stage 2 kit is not nescesary unless you are trying to shoot for 350+ hp. Go on snow performance and go to products instead of by car. It is 275$. I have a dolphin grey b6 A4. I have check my sig. for my mods. Nice looking car btw. I will upload pics later. It's nice to know I have someone around my area.
If you ever need help installing something or doing some kind of mods give me a hollar! I would work on my car everyday if I could afford something different to put on each day. Haha
