Based on Congressional accounting rules, at the end of his presidency, Clinton reported a surplus of $559 billion not to mention had the country in the lowest unemployment rate in years. Also Clinton left office with an approval rating at 65%, the highest end of office rating of any President since World War II. wow.. it appears you've been watching too much CNN, and If you acutaly did some reading, you would know we acutaly recieve only about 5% of our oil from Iraq, most of it is from canada (about 20%) mexico, and saudi arabia. Also, we didn't invade Iraq because of 9/11, we invaded it because sadam was either un-able to un-willing to control the influx of terrorist operations within his country and continued to be both oppressive to his people and provide resonable doubt that he had WMD's.

what the hell are you talking about? The country was on the verge of a major recession when bush took office, the fed was cutting interest rates similar to how it is now infact.. Not to mention that he managed a balanced budget in no small part by cutting the defense size to a fraction of what it was during the gulf war, I mean the army alone got cut from 900,000 to just under 400,000 and we're only talking about one service. iirc there were even some divisions that had precurement times of 2-3 years where they aquired absolutely nothing new. You're also talking about a man that cut $91 billion from vets and government retire's benefits and increasing fees on many services.

Defecit isn't a bad thing.. it creates credit and stimiluates the economy. I agree large defecit is bad.. but some isn't. And the same percentage of whites who didn't vote for him likely made their decision for the same reason. But I do find one fact humorous, he's only half black but everyone calls him black. Where I come from, that makes him mixed or mulatto. I gotta wonder, if he was 100% black, with nappy hair, would he have won?

WOW, take a gov. 101 class, please. Also, do some homework... If another person says we are there for oil they have NEVER LOOKED at international economic commodity tables, or for that matter have a clue about macroeconomics and trade.

Reading the constitution would not be a bad idea (and the majority that's posted here thus far) and then tell me who has the most influence in balancing the budget (the president or congress). Who had congressional power over Clinton's Presidency? How many veto's did Clinton give to legislation? How many negotiations took place between the executive and legislative? (I'll give you a hint.... LOTS). Minus the war in Iraq how was the federal budget from lets say post 9-11 (03) to the economic collapse starting in 06? Ohh by the way I remember something small in the constitution requiring congressional approval to war. Ohh look congress did approve of the Iraq war, with the democrat party leaders no less.... So Clinton and Kerry have a greed for oil too right?

I'm not saying Clinton or Bush are awful or good, we needed change from Clinton and we got Bush, not the best apple of the bunch but he is/was our President. Keep in mind that at a few times of his presidency he had one of the highest approval rating of any president in the 20th/21st century and was doing great. He then dropped the ball with policy and war, then congress took the ball and found a black hole to shove it in. Lets just hope that Pres elect Obama does not make similar mistakes. Electing his cabinet and staff will be the first challenge, lets see how he runs with t-ball, before he goes to the big leagues. Come January there is no room for mistakes in current times.
