Anybody switch to the B7 Key and have battery/ programming issues?

I switched to the B7 key and It is beautiful. I love everything about it but lately it has been pissing me off. It has been acting up like, I would drive somewhere, park, lock the car with the key, then when I would come back to the car it wouldn't unlock with the remote, only when I used the key in the door. Then I would drive home and it wouldn't lock, I would need to program the key to the car again (unlock, ignition on, ignition off, lock and it is programmed).

I replaced the battery and there is no problems with the connection of the battery.

Is there anything else I could try? Could the B7 Key Fob I bought be a faulty model?

    Anybody else have this problem?

    Thanks, Matt.

Scan the Central Convienience Control Module for DTCs related to the remote locking functions. Post back the results of the scan.

Yes, open the Group 46, Central Convienience, then check for fault codes in that controller. Save any codes to a text file, then clear the DTC memory and post up the codes recorded.

Update! I cleared the code, got out of the car, locked it. Left for 20 minutes. Went back to the car where the same exact problem occurred. I scanned for codes and the same exact code popped up. Cleared it again, and it popped up again... What should I do?

Re: Anybody switch to the B7 Key and have battery/ programming issues?

Ok that's the adaptation chart. I did that originally when I first programmed the key. I just did it again, seems to work good... I waited 1 hour and the key still worked. I then vagged the code 46 control module and it shows the same fault "key".

Do you think this fault will go away after I drive around for a few days?

If not, What should I do?

Is the code the exact same as the one before? If yes, then the possible causes must be checked and ruled out in turn, until it's fixed. If it's a different code, then the above still applies.

Re: Anybody switch to the B7 Key and have battery/ programming issues?

    Yes same code as before.

To fix the problem, I bought another B7 key and programmed that.. so it must have been the key that was faulty.

I don't know exactly but the problem stopped.

I have a "faulty" B7 key for sale if anybody wants one.... $10 LOL

Interesting! It sounds like this was a transmitter problem and not an immo problem. Wonder what could be wring with the transmitter? Maybe it got wet or something like that.
