    I used speaker box material. Mine isn't black, but you can get it that way. Relatively inexpensive and pretty durable. It also doesn't fade like the carpet on the package tray does.

    I was just at Jo Annes fabric store and they had specific material for headliners that was black. Looked like nice stuff, had like 1/8" foam behind it. If you have one of those stores around you go check it out.

    Got a full hide of perforated leather big enough to do a full headliner and the pillars for about 50 bucks on ebay. Another and you could do the seat inserts, armrest, wheel, license plate surround, mud flaps, whatever.
