How much boost could I run with K04's and AWE fueling safely? Currently I am running 22psi, but what would I need to run 25psi safely? just a MBC...Will my APR chip adjust? sorry for the very blunt questions, I apologize.

RS6 turbos if you want to run 25psi reliably. K04's will run 25 psi, but at that point you are beyond their efficiency range. It won't be immediate death of them, but it will shorten their life. More importantly if you go 25 psi you are going to want 28psi and you can see where this is going to lead.

I am content with the power right now, but I was just curious as to what was needed to make it happen. I heard K04's would be beneficial around 25psi since boost drops 4-5psi by redline anyway.

well first off, K04s run in the top of their effienciency at 24PSI.. after that they truely are a hairdryer... And just like RolledSTI said, you will just shorten the life of the turbos beyond that.... AWE usually runs 22 PSI because they have a safety net to provide since they sell a blanket OTS tune. Compared to say VAST/EPL/SSP/ASP where the car is custom tuned for your specs you can usually squeeze some more power out. you cannot just raise the boost because unless you go in and remap for more fuel you may lean out the motor

AWE fueling and an APR chip, new type of hybrid setup?

You can up the boost with proper fueling but keep an eye on O2 sensor Vs and if you have a wideband, even better. AWE uses 42lb injectors if i'm not mistaken? Possible that 22psi is maxing those out already. Just be careful, but yes in answer to your question a MBC will allow you to turn the boost up but that doesn't mean it's safe.

It says right there he has AWE fueling. That usually includes the ECU.


I would not run the K04s that high. APR runs 20-21.

What fueling kit do you have? AWE Fueling and APR use different injectors and hardware, so how is that working?

I was just wanting to fine tune the boost, AF ratio. Feels a little bit rich to me, but could be the boost leak.

LOL, dont turn up the boost especially if you have a leak. Fix the leak and than lemmiwink it. Add 4* of timing and pull 1% fuel.

I am fixing the leak before taking any step towards tweaking. Along with adding Samco upper intake hoses since one of mine has a small slit, which could be causing the boost leak.
