    ? installing Europlate ?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
First off I understand there are some strong opinions towards having a Euro-plate in the states, but I live in NYC (registered in PA) and thought it would be a safeguard against bumper dings.

I currently have the plastic USA plate-mount and would like to take it off and replace with an EU plate.

Does the EU plate fit directly to the bumper or is there a nice plastic mounting piece like U.S?

If so where can I find one?

Yes I searched and nothing came up.

    Thanks!

    Re: ? installing Europlate ?

The place where I ordered mine included a plastic frame/mount for the plate. It's hinged to sandwich the plate, and it snaps closed. Amazingly, none of the 2,000 holes in the euro frame lined up with the existing holes, so I just modified a couple of them to line up.

There is an advertiser on here that offers goo ddeals on EuroPlates, I would use strong magnets on the back of the bumper. Or drill throgh the plate into the existing holes and paint the screw heads so they are less visible

I just ordered mine last night from these guys. Great customer service. After talking to my GF she recommended something better than what I did so I e-mailed the company and they gladly changed it for me since It hadn't been made yet.

    Re: ? installing Europlate ?

Ive got a german plate on the front of my car. It's been taped on my A4 and previous S4for the past four years using 3M double sided foam tape. Cheap, no damage to the bumper, no screws showing... you just need to bend the plate bit to fit the contour of the bumper and it fits very well.

Occationally I'll take it off, clean up the tape, polish/wax the paint underneath and then reinstall it just to take care of the bumper.
