I have the ebay cable, now can I pull up codes or does it gotta be the real thing?

You can pull and clear codes, you won't be able to datalog certain blocks though.

Also, if it's a serious problem, the code will simply come back unless you actually fix the problem it's come up with.

You will need an OLDER version of VAG-COM to use with the 'dumb' interface cable you get on eBay (Ross-tech's description, not mine). I believe it is version 3112 and available free to download from their website, www.ross-tech.com

Good luck, but if you really want to use the program for what it was intended for, you should buy the license for $99 USD.

yea I just really needed to check them, as I was getting tired of going to autozone to get it checked. I do have that version, I can't bring anything up so at least I know it should work now. I have to mess with it some more. thanks.
