GIAC chip?

Hey I just got an 03 b6 a4 1.8t and I'm planning on getting it chipped and nothing else really besides a diverter valve thats about it besides tint and wheels but the tuning place i called said they only use giac because you can take the program out of the car so it doesnt void warranty or whatever..I just wanted some opinions on giac because i heard that revo is the best

From what I have "read" on here Giac is a more aggressive tune on a stock car compared to revo. Revo's tune gets better as you add exhaust and larger intercooler and they update your flash.

i've had my giac tune on my car for about a year now. It's been great, there is also upgrades if you want more power some day.

Giac ftw...unless ur going BT, go with revo, but ko3 and ko4 software, i would recommend Giac for sure. just be careful as it is an agressive tune and really hot days, you may experience a knock, i havnt yet, but i was told by Giac that it is possible...

So if i live in vegas i shouldnt go Giac?!? is the knock bad thing or just temp?!
and if i do go Giac (completely stock) do i need to go bigger injections or can that be done down the line?!

I live in Texas and haven't had this "knock" issue. So, i'd say go for it man! GIAC has a regular tune that you can do completely stock and you wont need to change a thing, but you'd probably want to change your DV, it can and will fail if boost is over 10PSI. GIAC also offers a tune if you wanted to upgrade you injectors, you use Siemens or Genisis 380CC or the audi TT 386CC injectors, that gives you even more power, but if you do the injector tune, it's recommended you do exhaust

if you get giac and are looking to buy the flash loader to change programs.. buy mine, it's $90 shipped. if you get this at the shop it's $150 + tax! you NEED this to change program back to stock fyi.

and about your topic... i loved my giac 1+ on my b6.. no knocking or any other issues. go for it!

I was looking into getting the Giac software for my bone stock 1.8t but also wanted to add a few things while im at it. DV was one for sure as well as a SS test pipe from VMR. Exhaust and injectors would probably be done at the same time later down the road, but I have a silly question… would Giac update my software for free or do I have to fork up some more money if I were to go bigger injectors down the road?!

yeh i should of clarified, the supposid knock issue is 1+, completely forgot...happy modding

if you do the regular tune on your stock car, it costs about $500 plus shop fees, the if you do the +1 down the road, it shouldnt cost you too much more. My shop told me, just an hour shop fee.

i did the giac 1+ w/injectors and i love it...i live in florida and have never heard a knock

Yeah I can spike 12 psi sometimes also. But I only hold 8-9 psi after the revs get higher

damn, registration is due in January so i guess imma have to wait till i do these mods...

at least i have little bit more time to save
