S4 or A4 wagon???

You can get a b6 S4 for roughly ~25k and you would have a great car that you probably wouldnt spend money modding.

or

You can get a b6 S4 for about $17 and spend the difference modding it. Brakes, stroker, BAT, suspension...
I can see getting a lighter, faster, better braking ride from the A4 minus the luxury of the S4 interior.

So im curious what would you choose and why?

Buy and A4, bring it to Vancouver, have us install a complete GT2871 turbo kit with all the goodies for $6000 and chew up B6S4 all day long while you wait for the S4 seats!

And the A4 is better on gas.

and this is INSTALLED at the shop so I think if you price it out you'll see it's a hell of a deal. Go price out an APR Stage 3+ kit and that doesn't even have an intercooler.

We do plan to offer a 3071 and 3076 package as well. But those will cost a bit more due to components like a 44mm Tial external wastegate. But the overall price is very competitive when you consider that our price includes custom installation to your car.

been looking into a kit like this. How reliable is this for the motor? How much time is it gonna spend in shop gettting tuned, etc. I drive 150+ miles a day and i want my 1.8t to be a little faster and a eliable daily driver?. Ko4 upgrade is nice but not what i'm looking for.

A V8 motor drives differently than a top end focused BT 4-cylinder motor.

I really suggest you drive both (or at least get a ride). They are different, you cant base your judgement on power numbers alone. The A4 does get better gas mileage though, thats for sure.

There are other pros/cons such as insurance, resale, tuning headaches, etc. You should really decide how you want to treat the car, either as a nice, reliable, clean, daily driver with good power and few problems... or a more high strung, fast as hell, top end car that WILL have issues, sooner or later. You have to be willing to put in the time to really take care of a heavily modified car, and that relates to all the components: motor, suspension, brakes, etc. Its a lifestyle choice hehe.

I personally went with the A4 over the S4, and would make the same choice again.

if you get an a4, wait for the BAT guys to start nailing down setups. If you can't wait for that get the s4 and enjoy the lower gas prices, but keep in mind you'll be spending as much at the pump as you would have with the 1.8 during the peak in prices

GT2871 kits have been around for a while and it is a good upgrade to nice power without having to change out the internals of your engine.

How much time to tune? A couple of hours on the Dynapacks while adjusting the software and it would be good to go.

A BAT setup is going to be much more involved than a 2871 setup in order to handle the power output. To be honest my own setup is a bit ridiculous for a daily driver.
