Battery help

I think my battery is on its way out and winter is coming

I have an 05 allroad and its a big battery
(it needs it 4 heaters in seats, the rear defrost does 3 windows and has to run the compressor for the air suspesion, ect..)

so I dont want to cheap out here

there is also a vent on the side of the battery

any recommendations?

Get an "Optima" battery.......you don't have to worry about the vent. I've been using Optima batteries for years, they're great.....I have yet to replace one, the car usually gets replaced before the Optima.

if your in it for the long haul (don't plan on selling the car anytime soon) optima is good, but you may have to modify your hold down. Otherwise the best place to go will most likely be a battery store and get one with the highest CCA and/or deep cycle.

Interstate H7 is the OE replacement (big one). Bolts right in.

You don't really need anything bigger or better if your 140amp alternator is working properly...

I changed mine with an Optima Redtop. Didn't have to modify the hold down really, it came with a different (plastic) hold down that works perfectly.

I changed my A4 battery with a red top
but I dont think it has the same CCA that a big one has

How much do the Optima batteries cost?

OEM from dealer, I was quoted $150.

I bought one from Canadian Tire, a MotoMaster for $112. It has a better Startup rating than the OEM ones. No problems yet.

~200 roughly....plus tax - mail in rebate (which i never recieved)

we should, but imma have something going for the winter when fresh snow fall arrives...it will be made up the day of, cause once the parking lots are plowed its no fun anymore.

As far as batteries go, I was just at audi of mississauga, and they start at 127 OEM

I was just measuring my battery and doing some searching
and I have the battery from the V8 allroad
its made by Varta about 14.5 inches long

its bigger then the H7
