Id also like to have an 08 STi, but Im not willing to buy a new or nearly new car. I plan to keep my avant for 4 years or more, then I'll look at STi's with 60,000+ miles.

I already have an 05 STi (my other baby).
It does not have seats that even fold down. Hence the desire for an 08 Sti since it comes in hatchback.

A friend of mine has an 04 STi and about two years ago he went to the airport to pick up two business clients for a golf trip to a resort that is about 1.5 hours away. They brought their clubs and both had hard cases... which clearly did not fit in the STi trunk.

Needless to say, he told me it was a very uncomfortable ride down for all three of them with two huge cases jammed in the back seat. lol.

I find the STi to be a bit too raw for everyday driving, just not comfortable enough. Fast? Yes. Handles? Yes. Loud, bumpy, twitchy, uncomfortable? YES. Great as a second car, not so great as your only car. I heard that they sorted out a lot of these gripes with the new model. I'm interested to test drive one to see how they did. The porous block casting issue is a big concern though....

Avants FTW! hehe
