My Oettinger front bumper + OEM S6 LEDs

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
OK, I've had a torrent of PMs regarding my front end. Here's all the information you will need if you want to do it:

    parts and approx cost
    $1000 - Oettinger front bumper
    $375 - OEM S6 LEDs
    $75? - B6 A4 tow hook, washer caps (x 2)
    $65 - Parking Lights - S6 LED Harness PN: 4F0 940 068 A
You will need misc relays, wires, and switches.

    dimensions
    20" long
    3" wide
    5.5" deep

Expect to spend a LOT for custom fabrication, this is NOT a DIY job. I did not factor paint into the costs either.

The lights are wired to a Bosch relay. When you unlock the car, there's a 12+ accessory. This remains live until the car is locked. The relay has power until the ignition is off, and the car is locked. Essentially, this allows me to have DRLs that turn on when the car is unlocked and remain on until I hit lock.

The power to the lights can be interrupted via a switch in the glove box.

    Any other questions? Ask here.

Other questions? Can you tell me the meaning of life? Where do all the birds really go when they fly south? Is Barack Obama really going to win tomorrow?

    Thanks for posting this info!

Question - Isn't there 12v accessory power when the doors are locked and you are driving? Maybe I misunderstood, but with your explanation you couldn't have the lights on when you had the doors locked and were driving...

My bad, let me correct that, I used lock/unlock incorrectly.

When you unlock the car, there's a 12+ accessory. This remains live until the car is locked. The relay has power until the ignition is off, and the car is locked. Essentially, this allows me to have DRLs that turn on when the car is unlocked and remain on until I hit lock.

I'm thinking about doing this. It'd look sick on my car as it does on yours! And if anyone needs that Oetty bumper, I can help supply that.

    2 q's

Did you do any fabrication to the lights themselves?
Does the oettinger bumper have that much more space than lets say the USP bumper to allow it to fit easier?

    Thanks.

The LEDs had to be modified to fit and lots of other stuff had to be cut. If you are running an intercooler or have anything behind your OEM fogs, this will likely not work.

The housing has a custom mounting bracket, I can remove the housing and attempt to fix the LED, or replace the entire unit.

Hey man...that looks nice. You have any suggestions on how to do that on an 06 A4 with a non s line bumper? Mine has a black plastic piece next to the fog lights. I wanted to just put 7 individual White LED. Example drill into the plastic and place the LEDs in a row. I am not sure how that would look though....Any suggestions?
