    Keep blowing fuse

Ok. Just as stated above, I keep blowing fuses on my 2000 30V in this order:

Driver's side low beam=>turn signals in instrument cluster=>Turn signal in instrument cluster again=>Emergency flashers.

What is going on? I blew the headlight fuse, replaced it a few days later then the rest all happened on the same day.

No ever answered this. Kinda sucks how everyone's making pointless threads though I can't get some sort of idea of what it could be

    Re: Keep blowing fuse

I have no idea. I saw this thread couple days ago and wanted to post, but was reluctant. If anything, maybe up the amperage on the fuses by 3-5 amperes. It works like this.

Each unit or device has a certain volt amperage (wattage) it will draw. The wires of that circuit are rated by the total amount of VA that will be going through it. The battery gives off ~12.5v and the alternator ~14.5v. So depending on whether you are using the battery or alternator will determine how much total volt amperage is being granted though that circuit. Say for instance, the headlights (low beams)are 55 watt (volt amperage) units. So, the manufacturer figured 55/12.5=4.4. That will need say maybe a 5 amp fuse for just the low beams. But that circuit also has other lights involved, so the amperage I think is 15 or so. If the device(s) draws too much energy/wattage/volt amperage then you short out the fuse. So, that is why you could up the amperage on the fuse to see if that will remedy the issue.

As to why you ended up shorting out fuses in the pattern you did, I have no idea. Well I do, but not important. Just up the amperage on the fuse for the headlights by 3-5 amperes and you should be ok.

I'm weirded out by it. But I did up the amperage by 5. My flashers don't work now. I'll replace that fuse this weekend. And all this happened almost immediately. Like, I fixed the headlight, blew the turn signals. Then turned my lights and car off and blew the same fuse again.

I didn't mention this before: I have ebay lights (don't tease) and the wiring is not OEM. I'm thinking maybe water gets in the plug and does something from there.

    Re: Keep blowing fuse

If you feel water got onto the plugs, then you should take out your headlights before the next rain comes (I live in Tri-State area and it is supposed to rain again on Thurs) and silicone around where you think it is necessary. I have silicone on my headlights bc I added an HID kit to it and the rubber groument alone just did not settle too well with me. I used window silicone sealer (as it is supposed to be waterproof) found at Home depot for maybe $3 or so for a tube.

But you should be ok if you just up the amperage on the headlight fuses and simply replace the other blown fuses with whatever amperes they already were.
