Turbo Lines,HELP!

ok, i have a buddy that wants to know if making his oil supply line going to his turbo shorter, and instead of going down and around the block, just wraping it around the back of the motor in a " U " shape, if it was a bad idea. i have no clue and i figured the next best pace would be here.

Wont hurt, mine runs around the front of the engine and then over to the turbo.

Would there be any reason not to have a small oil cooler on the line going to the turbo...? Or even from it...?

I'm going to be putting a sizeable cooler on my car when rebuilding soon.

A cooler is really only needed on a car that is going to be used for road racing. You wouldn't want to put a cooler on the return line since it is using gravity to get the oil back to the pan.
