I put the axle in and drop it fine for about a mile i get to my friends house and the axel bolt was fuckign loose so the car stopped moving .. i redo eveyrhting pull it out and put it back in ... the spindels on the outer side dont look like they reach perfectly but i figure the bolt for the axle would pull it it more to the spindels.i put it back in and tighetned the axle bolt up ... drove it around in circles and a stright away and it finally loosened up again.. ?? the axles from carquest idk wtf to do now im stuck... im thinking mayb the axle bolt did not seat right and if i tighten it down now it might be seated right and hold??

Re: cannot get this axle to work

The axle bolts need to be tightened beyond what you would ever believe is tight. torque them to spec. the reason the bolt keeps loosening is probably cause it is not tight enough and the axle is not even pulled in tight so when you drive it the axle just moves into hub more and the bolt then appears to be loose. The bolt probably never turned it just moved with the axle. If this is front axle then you have to tighten it to 140 ft. lbs and then another 180 degrees. That is alot of torque. Plus this bolt is a one time use bolt as it is a torque to yield bolt.

Re: cannot get this axle to work

Is the axle seated correctly? search around for pics. Possibly you have the wrong axle. The passenger side and and drivers side axles are different lengths. If this is the case you would most likely get a wheel speed sensor ABS light as the sensor would be unable to read the tone ring if it was improperly seated! Good luck!

P.S. As everyone else has said replace the axle bolts and torque to specifications.

Re: cannot get this axle to work

Well, as everyone else had stated, the bolts are considered 1 time use bolts. Many people have used them more than once, but with the damage yours probably received while breaking loose twice, it had nothing left it it. The bolt is a softer metal that allows it to stretch and not strip your hub threads when torquing. Chances are the numerous time you tightened it had taken all the stretch out of the bolt (which is why it is considered a one time use bolt). Go to the dealership, get a new one, torque and you shouldn't have any problems.
