Considering trading in my '04 Qx56 in for one. Don't need the seating for 8 anymore, but still need the utility and towing capability. Thoughts?

Get a Lightning instead. Cheaper, better gas mileage, better towing capacity and very mod friendly.

    I miss mine.

Re: Thoughts on Ram SRT-10 Truck

I was looking for a Lightning, but they all have way too many miles (Is expected for a car that I think was last produced in '05?) or else are modded to hell. Hey, if you can help me find a nice unmolested one with less than 20k miles, lemme know. That silver one I posted up, only has 4k miles. Closest thing to new I can find. I'm trying to stay away from anything that has more than 10k miles honestly. My Qx only has 50k miles...no point in trading it or selling it for something that has more.

riding in a SRT-10 made me laugh like a little kid. it was a weird feeling to go fast in a pick up truck.

i wouldn't own one, i doubt i'd ever own a pick up truck.

Check out svtperformance.com. There used to be a lot of low mileage ones on there for sale.

I'd rather have a Silverado SS. They certainly aren't as fast but are much more comfortable, are awd, get better mileage, I like extended cabs and the list goes on. Everyone has their preference I just don't see the point of a fast truck.

Silverado SS was just a gimmick....IMO, trucks shouldn't have all time AWD....RWD FTW.....and FWIW, the SRT-10 is available in 4 door.....

I agree, nice looking truck. Just something about a vehicle that gets in the single digits for gas mileage that turns me off.

Yeah...I may hold off on it. Even though I don't need the room in the QX, I get 15 mpg in the city, and if I set cruise control at 75 on the highway, I can pull almost 20 mpg highway which isn't bad for an SUV it's size.

The only thing you will ever see with a 20 in it from that truck is 20mph and 120mph...

Freakin awesome truck. I wouldn't hesitate. The lightning is not nearly as fast. It's a Viper engine! I am a loyal Ford guy but the SRT kicks ass.

my thoughts on it? not for me. I find it horribly ugly, the interior probably sucks as well (typical american car), and the technology very very dated.

You were trying to talk up your Ford and I quote you... "I doubt you can match that with anything you've owned."

In fact, there happens to be one out in our garage that has rolled over the odometer... Sorry but I doubled that and then some...

Re: Thoughts on Ram SRT-10 Truck

I sold my SRT10 and bought the Audi. It is certainly different. I also owned a F150 Harley Davidson edition with the same motor in it as the Lightning. The best place in the world for info on the SRT10 is VTCOA.com. I'm on that forum with the same user name. If you're looking to buy an SRT10, the VTCOA.com forum is the place to get a smokin deal too.

You can't go wrong with a SRT10 or a Lightning. If you want a manual the SRT10 has it. If you want Automatic, the Lightning has it. As for mods, I hear the lightning is cheaper to mod for the gains you get.

The SRT10 is brutal. It's got loads of power and handles great for a 5,000+ pound vehicle. You can get decent gas mileage in the SRT10. It's a 6 speed manual so it all comes down to how you drive it. You have a tough choice. I am not sure which I would choose. I prefer automatics but I also don't mod my vehicles. If you plan to do mods I would choose the L. If you want a stick shifter your only option is the SRT10. PM me if you have any questions since I have basically owned both and check out VTCOA.com.

One last note, now is the time to buy an SRT10. Due to fuel mileage their values are waaaaaaaaaaaay down. It's a buyers market for sure on the SRT0's.
