    Lowering Springs for S-Line

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Im after some springs to lower my A4 S-line more than it is at the moment. I understand that the s-line is around 25mm lower than a normal A4, so putting 30mm lowering springs will be pretty pointless.

Ive done a search but cant find anything conclusive. Im looking at a set of Eibach Sportline springs which give a drop of 45mm F&R. Does anyone have any recommendations or pics of their springs & drops? all help appreciated.

Also does fitting the AWD aftermarket springs make any difference to a 2WD car? i.e. will the drop be any different from whats quoted - H&R 1.7F 1.4R?

I'd have to say just by visual inspection that 25 mm drop for S-Line vs stock seems about right... 25 mm is about an inch. 10 mm really wouldn't be very much difference.

So would the Eibach pro-kit offer a similar drop as the S-line set up? if so should i go with the sportline kit?

The better question who here has done the drop with these different brands
of springs that know for sure they have s-line (red shock housing) suspension.
And what is H&R's drop since they seem reputable but have no info on the
our FAQ???? And also what it looks like with just our puny little 18s???

I did the Eibach Pros and the Koni FSD combination. I was completely stock except for sway bars and the Eibach springs lowered my car 1.5". The Koni FSD shocks have no affect on height. Here's a photo with the Eibachs installed. If I have time, I'll try to get a decent side shot. It's a significantly noticeable change from stock yet the ride feels like stock but with a definite increase in handling. Outstanding combination for a daily driver!

It depends. If you go to a serious racing spring with ~2+" drop or even the stiff "street" H&Rs at 1.5", a stock shock (non-sport shock) will yield a more bouncy ride as its valving was not designed for the stiffer spring rate.

The Eibach Pro springs, being 1.5" drop but with a progressive spring rate, may enable you to use your stock shocks without as much bounce as they are softer than H&Rs at the initial compression moment of regular driving. However, stock non-sport shocks will wear exponentially faster with lower and stiffer springs no matter what you use if the springs drop the ride height.

A better side angle of the Eibach + Koni FSD on the B7. I'm about 25.5" from front fender lip to the ground. The wheels are stock 17".

I find the ride very good. This is my daily driver and I usually drive customers around in it. They never know that I lowered the car. Very comparable to stock driveability but with a lower stance. I aslo have the rs4 rear sway and that made a great difference in handling turns, very tight. The way the car should be from the factory imo. I think this is a great set up for anyone who doesn't have the time or interest in fidgeting with coilovers but want a good handling set up with out the 4x4 look.

I got information today from a wheel place saying that the eibach pro will sit at the front from center wheel hub to wheel arch 365 and rear 360

but i measured my sports factory setup s-line and it is that exact hight now.. so its so confusing.

    Good luck
Thanks for the pic ! I was wondering if there is a difference in the wheel gap from front to back? I buddy has an S line A6, put H and R Sports in and the wheel gap difference is very noticable - looks horrible. I am trying to find out for sure if H and Rs are the way to go - so that the drop is nice with no tuck at all and for absolute sure no wheel gap difference. If H and R advertise 1.7 front and 1.6 rear, the gap will in fact be different - ARGH. I have been researching this for months. Help ANYONE !

My ride is 2007 A4 Quattro Sline, Titanium Package, White, Debadged

    Thanks
