new quick tail light answer

Im about to purchase the newer facelift tails and heard u need the newer bulb holder? I just called the dealer and said it would be $60 for both.. Do i really need this or can i just switch the wiring around like in the DIY writeup says..

didnt see anything in there... Just a couple sets of tails not in the best condition.

If you have the same lights as mine (pic below) and want to change to the latest B5 lights you can just swap a couple of pins round:

O/S - Swap Blue/Red with Black/White

N/S - Swap Blue/Red with Black/Green

That's on RHD cars though.

Yeah if your current taillights are like Oranocos then you can re-use your old bulb holders and rewire them. But if you have the older ones with the amber signals then you will need new bulb holders as well.
