Clean Crud on innner part of the rims

I have some junk (don't know what the heck it is) on the inside of my rims and I was wondering what's some tough stuff that will help get it off, but not hurt it? I know simple green isn't going to cut it. Maybe I need a scraper.

It's brake dust and i figured that rather than clean that stuff up all the time, i would just powdercoat my rims black

Get some P21S gel wheel cleaner. Spray down the entire wheel and let it soak for 2 hours. Come back and use a wheel brush to go over everything and hose it down. If necessary, repeat the process. Does amazing results!
