Weird throttle-up(RPM increase) while stoped at light -*UPDATED WITH CODES*

I was just on my way back to work after lunch. I stopped at a light and my engine started to rev up to 1200-1300RPM. I let off the brake and the car started to move forward toward the car in front of me. The light then turned green and we went, when I hit the accelerator my car almost died then came back up and drove as normal. Couldn't get it to do it again once I got it back to work.

    Any idea's

I have had a CEL for a week now, but my ABS is out so I can't communicate with the ODB II. I mailed out the module on Friday, so hopefully I'll get that back soon and see if the CEL has anything to do with the Throttle Body.

duhh... You did the "switched pedals" mod where you made your gas pedal the brake pedal and the brake pedal the gas pedal.

Reprogramming the ECU was part of the problem/fix or was caused by something else you did?

Re: Weird throttle-up(RPM increase) while stoped at light

Issue has happened again, put it in neutral and it revved up past 2k and bounced a bit and came back down to normal.

Got my ABS module back from Modulemaster.com and put it in last night. No more ABS light .

I pulled all the codes and these two came up

16500 - Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor (G62): Implausible Signal
    P0116 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16806 - Main Catalyst: Bank 1: Efficiency Below Threshold
P0422 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent -I know this is the post CAT O2 or maybe even the CAT

I cleared them and will check again in a couple of days. Does anyone think that these might be part of the issue or is it still my throttle body?

Another issue that might be the throttle body as well is some times when I start out from a dead stop my engine will bog down and feel like it's going to die and then it will come back up and run as normal.

    Thanks

I would first suggest going and getting a green top coolant temp sensor and start over from there. Realign the throttle body and clear the codes and see what else you get. Those coolant sensors have a tendency to mess with quite a few other sensors readings from what I have seen with others, including myself.

Yup...coolant temp sensor, did mine last week. Had the same issue, same code...$36 for the sensor at the dealership and a 5 min sensor install and you should be running like new

Thanks everyone for your replies. I already purchased a used TB just in case. I will check out what CTS I have and order it. If the CTS was the only problem that would be great. Will update in a few weeks to see if issue still persists.
