    Loosing boost in 2nd gear?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Okay, my car is chipped and I was wondering why it only holds about 14-15psi in 2nd gear, but 18-20psi in 3, 4 and 5?

I know it won't reach full boost in first, but I expected to hit it in 2nd...

It will steadily hold 14psi all all the way up to about 4800-5000rpm when it tapers off... Any ideas?

First off k03 chipped will fall off around 5000. Second could be because of a small boost leak. Make a tester and find them if there are any and fix them.

The 5000 drop off isn't what I was worried about... I know that's normal, I was just curious why it doesn't boost as high in second?

Re: Loosing boost in 2nd gear?

less strain on the motor... in the higher gears it is normal to see another 2-3PSI than in other gears... I notice the same thing on my car where I'll see maybe 22 in 2nd but like 23-24 in the higher gears, its just engine load.

Its just how the software is written when i was having problems with mine people told me that in the lower gears you wont see as high of boost as you will in 3rd 4th and 5th
