Ebay Ecodes installed w/ Pics...

Alright people,
So, i did the install this weekend and overall I thought it was pretty easy. For the most part its plug and play. The thing that took the longest was the HID install. The cutoff at first was way off, My drivers side light was fine but the passenger light was lighting up the trees! But, thanks to EUROaleksey he helped me with the adjustment. I did take some pics during the install and even took a little bit of video(i still need to uplaod it to youtube later tonight). These things are well worth the money!! The city lights look great (especially if you use LEDs!). Those of you who are on the fence........."Pull the trigger" You'll love them and be happy that you still have some money in your pocket. I hope these pics will help you decide. Most of these pics are side by side comparisons of the Ebay ecodes and the stock halogens. The last 2 pics are before and after shots. I will have the youtube links to the videos later on tonight.

im glad you are stoked, but i still dont get it. every 4th post in this forum is about headlights. (or rims, for that matter)

I think it's much much better than my stock. I honestly think that the cutoff is better on these.

They are 8000K. I had those bulbs in the my stock housings but, they def look much better in the new ones!!

I'm glad that you asked that. I actually had these lying around. I think i bought them at a local performance shop but, i have seen them at Autozone. At first I did put them in and tried them out and they were blinking like they were strobe lights(i have to admit that they did look pretty cool for a second). Anyway i realized that i forgot to hook up the resistors. Luckily i had a pair from another project and hooked them up and they work fine now. I'm going to switch them out for the aluminum resistors because these ones are ceramic. You can actually get the ceramic ones at Autozone.

They are a direct swap....plug and play if you are using the standard H7 bulbs. In my case i have aftermarket 8000K HID bulbs with the ballasts and everything that i'm using. So that requires some drilling for the wires.

Well the city light fittings call for a wedge bulb. I don't know if there are different sizes or wattage in wedge bulbs but the one i had fit and they work.

The city light is located just under the high beam bulb.

In this picture below, i just have the city lights on. They aren't as blue in person. They are the white LEDs which actually look a little purple-ish in person. I'll have some day pictures tomorrow for you.

Looks real good man. I was gunna say those are way too blue but the camera prob intensifies it a bit. 8k is still a lot though.

i have a question, i just bought real ecodes (valeo) just wondering what city lights should i buy for them? would they be the same OP is using? do I need resistors too?

When you say "auto leveling" you mean when you turn them on the lights kinda move around and then go back to normal right. My friend has a Lexus that does that so i'm assuming thats what you mean. My stock ones didn't have atou leveling and these seem to be exactly the same. I mean there would have to be some kind of motor in the housinbg right? I didn't notice one in there but, i didnt really inspect the inside of them. Also, in the pic below there was a small wiring harness w/ blue, black and purple wires sticking out of it that I didn't hook up. I have no idea what those are for. I would go to the Ebay link someone posted above and ask the seller about the auto leveling.

When i had the stock housings in i bought an after market H7 HID kit that came with the ballasts. Because the HID bulbs were H7 in size they fit into the stock housings. I just had to drill a hole through the back cover of the housing to run the wires to the ballasts. In the pic below i circled the the wires of the HIDs coming out of the back. Those wires hook up to the ballast. In all of the "before" pics in the video I have the HID bulbs installed in the stock housings.

The ecode housing calls for an H7 bulb, just like the stock housings. They are basically halogen housings so they aren't made for HIDs but, if you have an aftermarket HID kit that are H7 in size you can use them like i did. Also, if you have stock HIDs, you should be able to retro fit them plus the ebay ecodes have the spot to mount the ballasts. See below.

^^Ballast only apply to HID. Go to the ebay link below. This is an HID conversion kit. This is basically what i have for bulbs (not the same brand). Looking at the picture you'll see the little boxes that the wires from the bulbs plug into. Those are ballasts. The stock HIDs have these boxes mounted under the housings.
