Yup. Those are awhp numbers. I'm not sure what the drive train loss is to then calculate crank hp. 22-25% - ish?

I used dynolicious on my iphone (which has been said to be very close to actual dyno numbers and it said I put down 290 at the wheels. Thats with all the stuff in my sig.

    Josh

(I do wonder what the actual weight of the car is though. I put in 5300 lbs based off of the weight that is printed on the side of the car in the door (4950ish) so i added a few hundered lbs for fluids (almost a full tank of gas) and me (185 lbs). Sound right? Oh and I have a little bit of tuning done with lemmiwinks.

    Srry for thread jacking.

    Re: Chipped only dyno results

I was basing the numbers off what it said inside the door of my car. I thought it was high too but I figured the manufacture would know how much the car weighed.

Hmm I'm not sure what that number could be...maybe the most the frame could take, ie, weight capacity? But no- stock S4 weighs about 3600 lbs, or 3800 with driver as I meant earlier.

WOW I feel like a retard. Here is a pic I took of the door but I just figured out what it is.

The number is the actual weight that the car should not exceed. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. I knew it was too high. HAHA

LOL, its cool, we all make dumb mistakes.

But yeah, I figured that's what your number was (as that's what I guessed above your last post!).

    Re: Chipped only dyno results

Unfortunately for your HP numbers, the higher the weight, the more power it takes to accelerate at a given rate. That means that dynolicious overestimated your HP because it was thinking your engine was moving more mass than was really there.

yeah I realize that. I will have to lower the weight and see what it's really putting down.

    Re: Chipped only dyno results

dynolicious is very hit and miss.

take it's results with 1/43rd grain of salt.

and the weight of your vehicle(fluids and gas included) is in your trunk. and it's in kilograms
    Current:
    '16 Mercedes-Benz C450 "AMG": Stage 2 w/downpipes & 19" BBS CH-R's
    '88 Harley-Davidson Sporty 880: 1200 bottom - Ported & Cam'd top - S&S In - Screamin' Eagle Out

    Previous:
    '02 Audi A4 1.8TQM: Full GT28RS on meth w/everything else.
    '01.5 Audi A4 1.8TQMS: Tune and exhaust.
'99 Subaru Legacy Outback wagon Manual: Bone stock.
I don't even want to remember the others

    Re: Chipped only dyno results

I have dynolicious too. We should really put a sticky up about all the info that one would need to enter in to get the "accurate" results.

While I know that it's not a dyno, from my experience, it's a pretty good estimation of power. Not 100% accurate, but more accurate than other, more expensive pieces of equipment that does nearly the same thing.

Nice. How much more does an AVANT weigh?

I use both Dynolicious and PocketDyno to "see" what I'm pushing out. When I just had my chip, the Dynolicious once put me out at 336hp @ 3800lb gross weight...Lol! Since than, it put me at 255, 236, 249, 212(hp)....

I haven't used it since with my new mods.

    Re: Chipped only dyno results

Dont get me wrong, there's plenty out there that does better than Dynolicious. Just saying its a fair idea of what you might be gaining in terms of power.

There was a test done on some internet car show with it, and it was 1-3 hp variant off of an actual dyno that they tested with.

    2001.5 S4
    GIAC Chip
Samco TBB (to replace tear in OEM boot)

    on a DYNOmite dyno I put down ~270 whp & ~320 wtq
This was in cold weather in Md, I would say around 45-55 degrees.
