Spraying [smoking? blacking?] the back tails

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
My new wheels + tires we're put on 2 days ago and now I'm looking at my car and I have an urge to smoke out the tails.

The tails are the stock ones, and the look I'm going for is for a lightly "tinted" one where the red is tinted and the reverse white stays the way it is.

Question is: What should I buy to do this, and what do I need to do / know?

    Cheers!

Pics for reference [I'd want mine a bit darker]

I just bought $10 pre-cut tint on ebay. That way if I don't like it I can just peel it off.

Re: Spraying [smoking? blacking?] the back tails

Does anyone have a picture of what my stock tails would look like with either the smoked or gun metal lamin-x?

Also, would the "spray bottle"or "vinyl protectants" be necessary?

if u use VHT Nightshades and u end up not liking it...u can always use cotton balls and alcohol to rub it off.

Do you just spray on the VHT stuff or is there more work involved?

be carful using any solvent to remove paint etc from plastic parts! alcohol is mild but can still mess up plastic if you are not careful. better bet is to remove paint by sanding with fine grit paper (800-1000) and buffing it back up to polish.

You can buy it online its cheap, then tape off the reverse lights and spray as you see fit. Its easier then taking off the decals in the back.
