    DIY Painted lowers?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Has anyone, not a pro painter, painted their lowers themselves? I realize it isn't to hard, just some specific tools needed. Do you think it would be possible to paint them on a small home compressor? I mean its not that much surface area on each piece...

Anyone want to do a step by step writeup. I'm guessing some kind of promoter is needed?

    Thanks for any help guys...

    Re: DIY Painted lowers?

I have. I didn't use a spray gun though but, obviously a spray gun would help. I just used Dupi Color spray paint. It wasn't tough at all. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

    Re: DIY Painted lowers?

I painted my lowers on my B5 and it was easy. Just tape off the rest of the car to avoid overspray. Sand the lowers with fine grit paper, use adhesion promoter, a few coats of paint and a few coats of clear. What color is your car?

    Here you go.

This is what it looked like after i painted the sides. The door blades aren't fully painted because i bought some S-lne blades that i sprayed off the car.

Here are the blades after the install

I painted all that during the spring/summer period in 85+ degrees so it dried damn fast!

took me about 1-2 hours before I started installing parts back onto the car.
