b5 s4 subframe washers

i replaced the rear subframe on my s4 but i didn't use the washers for subframe. when i say washers i am talking about those big azz washers that go where the four bolts go on the subframe. the question i have is that "not using those washers will it through off the rear alignment"? The car feels fine but when i change lanes at high speeds it feels like that the back end is loosing control. I can not figure what it is. any ideas??????????

I think the washers absorb the rolling momentum of the car during turns/lane changing, without that cushion to absorb its like having a rolling tool chest in your trunk slamming against the sides (throwing your rear weight into the direction that goes straight) while you're turning/changing...

...just my thought. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

the car has new engine mounts and tranny mounts and new snub mount

the car sways sometimes when i change lines and when i hit a bump. it feels like that i am in a boat i was also told that the bracket that holds the left engine mount is cracked (the aluminum bracket)

i drove my car in the snow couple of days ago. it felt like that the back end of the car was slipping like crazy. it felt like the car wanted to go in a different direction than i was driving. i really need to figure what the heck wrong with this. if any audi mechanics are out there feel free to come over and diagnose the problem. i am located in philadephia, pa

I'd say its your suspension. Control arms, tierods? You might have instsalled everything wrong. take it to a shop and have them look it over.

the tie rods were installed at a shop. it feels like it is coming from the rear. i was thinking it could be the sway bar links in the rear and could also maybe a wheel bearing. the controls were replaced in the rear. i also did the alignment for the car too after changing the rear subframe. is the DIY for changing the rear subframe?

Change all the suspension arms bushings.
I had the same issue on my Rs4, changed all the bushings and it's ok now ;)

where can i get the bushings for the rear ?
is there rear tie rods for these cars?
i will be changing the rear wheel bearing this week.
i don't think the back tires are flat on the ground

it feels like that the back tires aren't sitting properly. i was driving the car in the snow today. the was a lot of noise coming from the back wheels. it felt like the tires weren't touching the ground correctly

damn, i have to swap my rear subframe too, how long did it take you? This sounds like a swaybar problem to me though

the rear subframe took me about 6 hours to change out. where can i go to get the rear subframe aligned at. prefer south bend indiana area
