T3/T4 cheap build on a FWD tiptronic

Hey guys I'm trying to put together this project, doing it properly but also relactively cheap. I've got a buddy with a T3/T4 (not sure what size it is yet because he needs to hunt it down in his house...)

I've become rather curious as to swapping to a T3/T4 setup but am having a hard time finding things through the search. Can any pass on information, links, or advice to me?

I'm only looking to make 250-300 whp (fwd)... not going for insane power or quickest quarter mile, just more power for daily driving. I want to explore my options. Yep unfortunately i'm tiptronic... I have found someone to do the tune, thats basically the other half reason of why I now want to try this.

Can I just lower/limit the boost so that I stay to a resonable level of power for my fwd tip? I realize how dumb that question is... 3" dp is no problem, i got the fm intercooler, custom intake in the workings, GIAC tip chip is obviously in the plan, and have a RS4 paddle shifting steering wheel

Not really the right section... This is for established builds, not theoretical one, because then everyone would post here...

I would suggest a T3 super 60, GT28rs, or a T3/T4 50 trim .48 AR with a decent compressor wheel... I dont like eliminators and never will, just person preference and a few hunches

I think the T3 super 60 is going to be the best/cheapest actually now that jake posted that

Good luck with that tranny. My friend has a k04 j31 file on his 01 fwd tip and his tranny is working its way out.

I remember reading along time ago that the tranny would be better able to handle a BT as opposed to the K04 J31 because the lack of low end torque, where as the K04 J31 has large low end torque numbers... I'm pretty sure thats what I had read but of course I or what I had read could be wrong.

If this thread needs moved then I guess move it, I just posted it up here because I wasn't getting responses back in the tech talk forum.

Any other ideas for the T3/T4?
