Strike At York University?

Well im a student attending Yorku and there is a lot of talks about a strike. Now after reading all the material on the unions websight and various newspaper articles im still confused. When is this strike going to happen (if it does):
im under the impresstion that today, Nov 2 is the day that they anounce wether or not they are going to strike, then they will give 72 hours noice and the school will be locked down on Thrusday Nov 6th. Is this correct? should we be expecting a decision today, or can they announce what they are doing up until the 6th? Any insight would be great since a week of striking would be great!

nahh today nov 2,d was the date that was proposed when yorku could lock the ta's out....but it got pushed back to november 6th(which is also the day the ta's vote to strike or not)

I went through this at U of T in the late 90's... The most annoying part was having the TA's block us from entering the parking lots in order to make us late for class. It felt like they used us for there battle with management. At the time there issue was making enough money TA'ing to pay there tuition. It was hard to be sympathetic when they were making almsot $30 an hour while you are making 10 at a part time job while paying for your own school that they were preventing you from going to.
