SoCal Audi Driving Experience. Anyone going?

I'm going on the 7th to AAA Speedway in Fontana at 1:30. Are any of you guys going to this? Should be a blast.

I'm going on the 6th - took the day off work to hang out with Audi's! I was waitlisted for the 7th, and a couple other days.

I think ChronicTeutonic (Eric) is going on the 8th or 9th.

Got back from the Half-Day earlier....INSANE! My first drive experience ever on a track or anything like that and it was so much fun! I learned so much - it was definitely worth it! And the R8...............................

BTW - thoroughly enjoyed my time yesterday. I was in my own car the entire time - so I got a lot more track time than everyone else. It was sweet. Now I'm in the mood to sign up for Infineon - or start tracking my own ride! lol

For those that had fun and want to do more, there's an Audi Club driving school Dec 4/5 at Buttonwillow.
It's very similar to the experience you had, but obviously you drive your own car.
Noobs get treated to some excercises, then lots of track time!

It's a great way to learn more about your car and have a ton of fun!

My wife and I had a great time too. She almost got sick on the track so when it was time to switch drivers, she just got out so I got to drive the track again. Even still, she said that she had a great time. If I had thought about it, we could have set up a meet or something for afterward.

Yes we rode together the whole time she liked the road course. she did surprisingly well it was the only time i got nervous but after i saw her perform i was ok. The best part about driving it was the first time i could drive fast and take turns fast and she didnt complain

That's funny. My wife did very well with the comparison portion. She squealed tires on the A4 and the Benz. I was actually surprised at how well she did after a couple of laps. She was all smiles and laughter when we rolled back around to the starting line. The instructors were getting a kick out of how excited she was. She was the only woman. She represented me well.

I was down there for the half day Enthusiast Program on Wednesday and the A4 Experience on Thursday. It was my first track experience, so it kinda felt strange at first pushing the cars to the limit, but so damn much fun after I got used to it. Driving the R8 on the track was an unbelievable experience. It was such a confidence inspiring vehicle that always felt well composed, even more so when pushed hard. The A4 performed flawlessly in all situations and certainly outshined the competition. Thumbs up to Audi for putting on such a great event. I'll definitely be looking forward to future Audi track events.

hahhahahaha awesome i love getting in trouble after the fact it never fails. Thats cool you got over 100 mph! I think i was right about 100 it was fun but when we switched the instructors slowed it down alot the top speed was like 80mph.

I was fortunate that we got in the lead group onto the track with an awesome leader, so we were able to push it pretty hard at first...we caught up to the other groups a couple times, but our leader asked "permission" to pass both times. He had us hammer down on both front and back stretches. It was a great experience for sure.

Now the Wifey is "considering" the half-day or the R8 experience for my bday...keeps fingers crossed!

I live in SF but I spend alot of time in Berkeley. I like the weather further inland... no fog and usually quite warm.

I had a great time at CA Speedway. It was crazy windy! Audi did a great job organizing and the staff was friendly. And like the guy said, it's way more fun when it's not your gas/tires/brakes.

Dan sorry we didn't get to hook up. I didn't get there until 2:30 and when I got back to my hotel, I noticed the burger meet was canceled. Better luck next time.

I went on thursday and had a blast. Our lead car was quite impressed and he had us really push the car- i was right behind him not letting him increase his distance. Unfortunately, after driver switch off with my partner, the second driver of the #4 car was holding us back, and was asked to get behind the lead car.
On the first round, we joined another group on 2 laps and it was cool to see 10 red Audis in line going round the course!
Definitely will pay for the Sportscar exp next time!!!

All good Clay - the burger thing kinda bounced off the radar last minute. I was pretty tired after that day anyway.

That's exactly what happened in my group. I was car 1 and car 4 was holding us back so car 4 became car 1. We only got to 80+ mph on the fastest part of the track. The A4 is impressive and outshined the Benz, Lexus and BMW. I really liked the suspension on the BMW but the A4 got the edge.
