    Hi everyone I have been a member for a while and it seemed like i should ask u guys because from reading past threads alot of you guys know alot about Audi's & give good advice...


    Well to get to the point I have an 03 a4 1.8T 4dr with 39,000 miles Well The car was driving well until today.. I started the car and the engine started to shake only for a few seconds I gave it gas and no response... I turned the car off and when I turned the car back on it was fine but it did have a check engine light. What could it be???

    3 weeks ago i was driving and the CEL flashed on and off a couple times rapidly and turned the car off and then nothing was wrong...
    Now today the same thing happened but this time it stayed on..

    I turned it on 2 hours later and the CEL is gone

    to tell u the truth I think it may have blown a couple weeks ago because my car does not drive as strong as it did before and when i press the gas it seems that it takes a little longer for my car to accelarate...

    Yep, coilpacks. Buy all four at the same time. You can get them from a VW dealer for a few dollars cheaper than the Audi dealership. They are Revision R now and will cure your ails.

    12/23/09 - My car has been phenomenal to me. Runs strong. Don't think I'm ever going to sell it. Rather throw $7k into it for a refresh than buy a new A4 that has no dipstick.
    12/5/10 - 100k miles & counting!
    9/22/13 - 146k+ & running strong w/a new TB, water pump, etc.

    Thanks guys I knew it was that I will get this done as soon as i can ...

    I tried search for a DIY with pics on how to change coil packs but i couldnt find it on this forum or other forums if someone has the link can they please post it for me... I prefer if it has pics..

    Very very very easy. This is closest you'll get to a DIY because it's so easy.

    no it's not, coilpacks are the things on top of the spark plugs. Again, you won't find a DIY since it's so easy: remove, replace, install.

    ^^ actually he is right. Links to A4mods are known not to work when u copy and paste them on here.

    Go to A4mods.com, then click on Engine and Performance, and click on the last one: Spark plug install. They will have pics and instructions how to remove the coil packs.

    Just replaced a coilpack of mine on thursday. Don't be alarmed if the CEL doesn't go off for a few days after you've fixed your problem.

    I dont know i bouoght my car when it had 32000 miles on it and this was 2 yrs ago i barely drive my car because i was working in the city now i work in lyndurst so i drive everyday..
    To tell u the truth 107K is alot of miles if its 03 u must have put alot of love into that car lol
