    Re: Tiptronic tranny fluid

you can put Dextron 3 in there if you want, $40 at walmart for 20 liters.

most people will tell you it can't be done, and it will damage your tranny, and thats true if you mix it with the OEM fluid, but if you flush it so there is only D3 in there its fine.

I've been running D3 for 10,000+ KM now, no issues.

Amsoil synthetic all the way. Supposedly around 65-70k you change it. I changed mine at 85 when I went stage 3 and it wasn't looking too bad.

amsoil= snake oil that people sell out of their garage.

you could try to say the same for redline, but there are alot of race teams that use it.

That's why you don't buy it from someone out of their garage. WTF is snake oil? Don't bash it until you try it.

I did, never noticed a difference.
based on how they market their oil, and the fact that i have never seen amsoil for sale in any performance shop or store, makes me a little suspicious. I can get redline for the same money, lots of performance guys use it, recommend it and i've had very good experience with it, i used MT-90 one time in a notchy gearbox, fixed it right up. My S4 used to make that shudder noise around corners, filled the torsen diff with 75-90 redline, its gone.

back to amsoil, I used their Ea oil filters in my old car, my oil stayed super clean for about 1000KM, then suddenly turned black, same thing happened to my friends contour, at about the same km's too. looks like they trap every last particle of dirt untill they become saturated, then the bypass valve opens up and your engine gets lubricated by unfiltered oil.
