    Hows it going fellas?

I was doing some reading and I noticed there is this special programmer that plugs into the OBDII port that adds functionality for the remote fob to be able to roll up or down the windows by holding unlock or lock, respectively.

They said it works for Volkswagens, and if I am not mistaken, we're in the same boat.

I have a 2000 Audi TT, 180. Would this $60 programmer work with my vehicle? It sounds really cool.

    EDIT:

its called KVW100 or KVW 100

if I buy the cable from say ebay.... Do I need to pay for software or is there something I can use that will be able to add the functionality?

I am computer savvy-- but not so much when it comes to plugging into obdII ports with them

Yup, find someone with a VAGCOM and do this:

I just recoded my MY2000 TT to lock at 15mph and unlock when key is removed.

I use VAGCOM v409 and an ebay USB cable. You can buy the license for $99 for the software. It's worthwhile to have if you are going to be modding your car. Otherwise, as mentioned above, just find someone with the software and cable and have them recode the central locking subsystem for you. Should take 5 minutes. I believe there are multiple forums with "vagcom locators" to help you find someone who can help you.

Sorry, I have no information on the scan tool you mentioned though from the price it appears to be just a code reader/clearer.
