Bad day

Ok guys here the deal...I was on my way to Whore my Culinary services for a Halloween party tonight. Coming down a hill, my car died(B6 A4, stock, 1.8t, 81xxx miles) so I pull it into a parking lot. Try starting it, Fuel pump primes, All dash lights and windows work, it cranks but does not turn over. No CEL or other lights came on when the car died. Im thinking electrical but im no mechanic. Had it towed to the stealership and they will look at it Monday. What do you guys think it might be? Thanks in Advance

could be the fuel pump, was it makin any kind of noise before your car died?

Did you hear anything when it died? A metal sound or anything?

what do you mean it cranks but does not turn over....is the engine turning but does not want to start...If it doesn't turn could be the battery drained, dead alternator wich should have triggered a light in the dash or worse case is timing belt

when you turn it over are there any unusual noises? most of the time when a fuel pump goes bad the car will start and idle for a few minutes and die. who knows it could be a relay, are you getting a spark?

Engine Speed Sensor. If it starts when it is cold, ill bet my life on it... well not my life but you get the idea lol. it happened to me, if you let the car cool down it might start. And if you buy the part from the VW dealership, you save 20 bucks! the part number is the same for both makes, and Audi wants to tax your ass hard. Unless you are CPO its going to cost 100 bucks for them to diagnose.

try cleaning your MAF with electronic air duster as well as the plug.
and check your plugs too.

Sorry for not repling sooner, crazy weekend. So the stealership called me this morning and told me it was the fuel pump which i kind of had a feeling it was. They had to pick the part up in jersey so should be ready to roll tomorrow. Thank god for that extended warranty...Thanks for all your input everyone

You had no signs untill it just died? I kind of find that hard to believe...
