Hi, I wanted to know if anyone knew if the Carbonio CAI will void my warranty. I already have it installed in my A4 Ti and would like to know. Thanks!

Yes. ANY modification can be lead to a voided warranty. Moss magnusson doesn't matter because unless your going to lawyer up the dealer isn't going to care.

Just take it off if you need to go to the dealership.

yes it will, and jmaak is spot on, Moss Magnusen is GREAT when the benefit will outweigh the cost of the lawyer youll have to go through. For a new transmission or engine, worth it :)

Sometimes you can get lucky and bully the dealership into fixing the problem by having a lawyer send them a nice letter.

    Re: Carbonio CAI....Void's Warranty?

I heard they don't care about it when you bring it in for servicing, etc. I guess only when there is a problem they need to fix it's necessary to take it off..?

I have been taking mine off everytime I go in. After some practice you can have the CAI off and new one back on in under 30 min. Under 15 min when going from stock to CAI.

    Re: Carbonio CAI....Void's Warranty?

If its a service, no problems.

If something is wrong, and requires Audi to pay for, expect some questions and finger pointing at the intake. They have to prove the mod directly caused the damage though.

In the end, all of this depends on the dealer.

True...but its better to keep mods out of the dealers mind. Because its going to be hassle every time you go in if they find out you are messing with stuff.

    Re: Carbonio CAI....Void's Warranty?

you could always call your service supervisor and tell him youre thinking about a carbonio and if it would be a big deal. some audi dealers sell and install carbonios so its crazy to me that you will get voided for it but im sure its possible.

    Re: Carbonio CAI....Void's Warranty?

my dealer told me just as long as i don't add a chip or a new turbo, i should be fine. i have the carbonio and the awe quad tip exhaust. I asked them about those two mods before i bought them and they said that i will only void warranty on the parts i replace ( minus the chip and turbo which would void the whole warranty).

    Re: Carbonio CAI....Void's Warranty?

with as many people that have been screwed over by audi for their warranty due to aftermarket products, i'm surprised that there isn't a class action lawsuit. i can't believe that any lawyer wouldn't want to take this case, since there's clearly a law in their favor.

currently, there's a class action lawsuit against the RIAA being backed up by a Harvard Law professor, stating that their rules and stipulations are unconstitutional.

    Re: Carbonio CAI....Void's Warranty?

You guys must have some really anal dealers.

My salesman, the first day when I was picking up my car, I asked him, if I do an intake, chip, exhaust, would it void my warranty? He just told me don't worry about that, he has all that and more in his 2.7. If I have a problem, he said just bring it in, and the mods won't be a problem at all.
