    Ain't gonna happen.
Do your own maintenance. You can change the oil and pads at the same time and it will take you couple of hours and fraction of the cost.
Seems like you bought the wrong car if you are scared of regular maintenance.

there is no need to take it to that level. He is wanting to get the job done for free rather than paying for it. Who doesn't like free??

And yes chances are they will not perform the 45k service but it doesnt hurt to try.

They won't do it unless your mileage is close to 45k or enough time has passed since your last service. That's dictated by Audi and not the dealer. If the dealer did the service for you, Audi would not pay them for it since it was done prior to the correct interval. Probably the same for brakes, they'll say something like your brakes are still good.

As for doing your own maintenance, some people may not be very mechanically inclined. That doesn't make it the wrong car for them. If they can't do it themselves but can afford to have the work done, than they have every right to own one. Every car requires regular maintenance so according to your argument, you should not own a car unless you can do the work yourself.

when my maintenance was almost up i talked to the service rep he had my 45k done at 37 because of the time time frame of the warranty... 48 months of 45 k miles... made up that number but it fell into the time category.

im in the same boat, my car has 46,500 on it and the little things are just now starting to break. Try and build a relationship with a service advisor, see if they will letchu get your 45k service done. most likely it'll have to be at least at 42,500.

Re: My free maintaince end in 2 weeks help me get stuff done

What exactly is covered on the free maintenance included with the 05s until original warranty ends? I remember the finance officer mentioning free oil changes but can't recall what else was included.

I'm currently a few miles short of 39k and original warranty ends in June 09. According to print out of service history I requested, the 35k interval was done around 33k. Bought car at 34.5k. When I asked about the 45k, I was told it would be done 10k after 33k interval was done. In short, have to hit 43k before June. That won't be a problem at all.

the 10k services are what are covered. in your case, you'll get your 45k service in before it expires. as for warranty, your brakes are also covered (05 was the last year for covered brakes). make sure you have them check out the brakes when you take it in next.

Yeah, I was about to jump in here and state that brakes are not covered...

    but I guess 2005 was!

If your free services are up in 2 weeks, I would just call and schedule the 45k service. At least when I bought my Audi, the "free services" cost $500 up front (I am not sure if they cost money back then!). So, if I am running out of time, I will either ask for a refund of a portion of my money, or get them to go ahead and complete the last service...

yea, I forgot this is not a tuner forum.

OP, I hope you get your shit fixed up for free. I'm not arguing with that at all. I like free as much as the next guy but when it comes to dealerships ... well they will try their best to not to have money come out of their pocket.

It's not about being scared of maintenance. It's about being smart and saving some $. I don't care how much money you make, only a fool would throw money away and not take advantage of free maintenance.

The smart people make the most of their money. I understand where you're getting at. I don't think people should skimp on things like gas, quality parts, oil, and quality mods, but if the maintenance is free, take advantage. I don't afford the things I can afford by not finding the deals.
