HELP Axle replacement problem

I am trying to replace the passenger side front axle on my 1999 A4 quattro 2.8 V6 5 speed. I cannot get the old ale out. I have followed the DIY instructions posted by Wholsea and it looks like I need to disconnect the upper control arm to give me enough room to remove the axle. My Problem is that I cannot get the bolt that retains the upper ball joints out. I have removed the nut but the bolt will not budge. I have applied PB Blaster and Hammered onb the end (with the nut on to protect the threads) but it will not budge. Does it have to be removerd or just lossened? I did not try to drive teh ball joints out yet because I was not sure if the bolt has to be removed or not. Thanks If this is a duplicate post I appologise. This bolt needs to come out completely. Tap with a hammer lightly around the bolt and use a ton of PB. Soak repeat, soak repeat... I took the nut off and tapped the end with a hammer and was able to finish it off with a punch. You may need to resort to heat (torch) and an air hammer. You can play with putting a jack under the lower control arms to raise/lower it and get some pressure off of the pinch bolt. Seemed to work for me. Search pinch bolt and you'll find some more help too. Good luck, you will need it.

remove lower shock bolt
remove front sway bar link bolt
remove both upper ca bolts
remove 3 bolts holding the assembly in
remove assembly
turn wheel right

done

Yeah, if you can't get that pinch bolt off, remove the lower end of the assembly...

I've had to cut and drill a number of those pinch bolts out because they seize...
