    WTF

So I just got 19X8 celebration reps with +35 offset and I can barely fit a finger nail between the spoke and my front calipers.

This sucks so much ass, now I gotta remove them tomorow morning before I go to the garge for my timing belt.

What's a safe distance to have between the spoke and caliper?

I'll post pics tomorow before I remove them.

Just buy some small spacers. 3-5mm.

that's what I'm going to do on monday, but I thought the general concensus was +35 would be more than enough to clear them

Re: Celebration wheels +35 Offset doesn't clear calipers

I think an 8.5 rim with et35 will work. You have 8 so Im guessing that overall the spacing is about .5in off. I have not really looked into backspacing but if its simple math that should be acurate. That is why you are coming up short.

Or does the offset itself change with the rim width?

it totally depends on the spoke design as well

I have noticed that as well. What rims are in question? Do you have a pic?

Interesting. Im suprised it does not clear with more room. I have seen people run BBK with what look like NO room. I dont know what is safe or acceptable though.

I'm surprised too, the wheels came of an 2005 S4, and I know they have big calipers up front too.

offset is important. Spoke design can play an even bigger role though.

Well reading a few thread about offset for our cars, I figured +35 and the wheel design doesn't have a lip nor does it curve inward too much, I figured it would've been more than enough cleareance up front.

also depends on the brake pads, it may clear the worn pads and not clear the new pads, that actually happened to me.i would get 8-10mm spacer to be sure that it will clear even when you get new pads ;)

They look like the back of the spoke is flush with the rest of the rim. Does it say et35 on the rim? Maybe they are 30?

I have seen on average 35 - 42 for offset. What is the most common? Or does it all depend?
