You heard me right. Tomorrow I will be going out with my camera many times to catch what seems to me to be a leak of some sort. I just got back from a second dealer who still cant figure out what seems to be the problem. Problem is on a cold start when I go WOT down the road right away it flutters/sputters/makes a interesting sound. Most of you are going to jump right into it and say boost leak, divert valve, exhaust leak, etc... Let me assure you I have fix all and any boost leaks, put on a brand new baileys dv, had my whole exhaust checked out and tested and still nothing. This only happens for about 30 seconds or so and will stop. At the bottom of this page are a few old videos but I will be attaching the camera outside the car tomorrow so you can get a clear idea where its coming from. Its winter and I don't have time to fuck around myself to find it. I need it fixed and I need to know what to fix now. If someone comes up with an idea and turns out to be correct fix for the problem I will pay you 20 bucks. No lie I will paypal it or send it money just as long as it works. I know 20 bucks is not all that much but you can go out to the bar and gets a few beers and a lap dance from them dirty girls, I don't care just fix my car. Thanks.

Ps. if this needs to be in chatterbox you can move it. Thanks.

Please list all mods, the results of your pressure holding test and exhaust test, a vag scan, and any recent service. Also, how many miles, what viscosity oil?

I would try replacing the dv with a stock one and see if the problem continues.

Ok let me answer a few of your questions so we can continue. To let it warm up, I have. I have let the car warm up for 15-20 minutes and still even when its good to go If I go down the road full throttle or even partial you can hear it. I only go full throttle so you can really hear how load it is. Next in the list order I have NO mods besides the baileys DV in which was replaced as a hopeful solution to the problem, It did have 1 boost leak on pressure test and that was fixed after fixed I retested it and it held pressure fine, the exhaust was tested both by me and the shop and both found out there is a tiny pinhole side leak at the tips on the end where they welded them on but the sounds seems to be coming from engine bay mainly right side. Don't have a copied vag scan but it tested fine with no codes thrown. Services has not been performed on the vehicle since I bought it and it needed to be inspected only things done were new rear brakes, along with a new expansion tank and coolant and that's it. Car has 53k miles and uses mobile 1 in which just got a oil change today.

If you want to check to see if it is the bailey's I can let you try my stock working diverter valve since it's just sitting around. I'm not to far from you, I'm right in Jamison and I have a vag-com also but it sounds like the vag-com is a non-issue for you. Let me know if you want to give that a whirl.

Well if that is the case which I really don't think it is I can just pick one up at the junkyard. See the biggest thing is it goes away after 30 or so seconds and is never to be heard again until I let it sit for a hour or two. If it was the baileys It would do it all the time and would do it after I installed that but it was doing it previous to the install.

Gotcha. Just trying to think of ways to narrow down your issue especially since it's an easy thing to check for.

Also, did the 99 years come with a secondary air injection system? If it did, have you tried to disconnect the connection to it to remove that from the list of possible issues?

The MAF could also cause a misfire if its bad and that would be the noise. Any codes?

Re: I will pay for for your correct diagnosis.

Wastegate flap not sealing correctly. i had a similar noise etc and replaced all of the gaskets, the exhaust mani, and re sealed all of the exhaust joins and the noise was still there.

I tightened the actuator to pull the flap to seal properly when i swapped the exhaust mani gasket after the stupid bolts came loose and it was all good since

That was my xext approach. I thought the wastegate could not be closing correctly. It was grandma driven it whole life so maby there is allot of carbon built up inside from not really ever getting on it. Im going to try to seafoam the intake mani and see if I cant fix it with that first. If not ill pull out the turbo.
