UPS guy showed up!...LEDs

When I saw the ECS post on these new LEDs with the resistors and heat sinks totally built in, I knew I had to have em.Here are a few shots, check out the difference!
Heres what I got from ECS

Stock halogen on Left/ Hoen xeon match on right

those Rearward Headlights aren't worth 50 bucks. I'm happy someone finally got an LED on the market with built in resistors, but having a monopoly on that product is not a good thing for the price at all. It needs to come down dramatically.

I felt bad about spending 50 bucks on bulbs/LEDs but after installing them....... that bad feeling no longer exists! They look awesome and it dosen't throw a "bulb out" light at all!!!! Soon I'll have pics of my whole LED upgrade. Stay tuned.

I bought the LED plate lights from 42DD on my B6 S4. I believe they were $12 for a pair compared to $50 at ECS.

I read before i bought them that the B6 had no "Light Out" on the DIS. What i found out was that if i kept the light dial on "off" and start the car i get no message. Its only when i keep the dial on the "Auto" position that the light out message is displayed.

Whether or not the ECS bulbs display the light out does not concern me. The 42DD ones are great for a fraction of the price.

Yes, each to their own. However its Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from ricer! The pictures don't even do the bubls justice,they look awesome in person.IF I only had a camera that could take acurate pics, they look kinda blue ish on the pics,super white in person! As for all the cops seeing my plate clearly, its the law.At least I know I not getting pulled for something stupid like "they can't see my rear plate". The 50 bucks was hard to part with and I think they could come down in price a touch. Still, there is NO light out warning at all no matter what position my switch is in.They work flawlessly in my B6! Thinking back on all the dumb shit I've spent 50 bucks on before, even non car related stuff....... These for sure look good and were worth it! Its an S...your supposed to stand back and just throw money at it. LOL

5.Halogen is sooooo much better. Thats why everyone is developing hi powered LEDs.Including Audi.

When you start the car do you have the light knob in the off or auto position?

I have had my car on both during start-up. I will usually get a bulb out when the lights are on auto, however, i noticed that i have never gotten a DIS warning when the lights are on off upon start-up...

Might be something worth trying

My lights are always off, never auto. Of course, the license plate bulbs have no power when the switch is off....so they can't cause a fault until they're turned on. When I had the led's, the DIS warning would come on when I turned the light switch to the on position......every time. Again, I'm a B7 so things might be different.

I had it in the off and auto positions, I didn't have any DIS issues for a while, then they started to appear. I took the time to install the resistor, no issues since then
