VAST Stage 3 feedback

I picked the S4 up this evening after the Stage 3 upgrade was done. Damn, it pulls hard. I didn't think it would be that much of a difference between Stage 2+ and a VAST tuned Stage 3. I was wrong. Prince and Mike were a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend them. Peace out. I'm going out to do some more "test driving".......

I live in milwaukee. I day dream frequently of taking my car to vast and have them do a full stage 3 upgrade. Then the smile on my face while driving it back home.

Maybe someday. But dang that has to cost a lot of money.

What all did they do for the upgrade and how much did it cost you?

At the time I had a big turbo 20th. Which was my child haha but I needed something more pratical.By anymeans my 20th was anything but sluggish. My neighbor happens to have a vast stg3. That kind of convinced me to get my current car. Vast has a great file. There service is top. You should be very satisfied with that car.

I just got back from some spirited "test runs"!! I didn't have VAST install the Stage 3. That was done locally at the dealership, sorta. I have VAST software and their RS4 hardware. I bought the PJ KO4's locally too. It's so ridiculous I can't stop laughing. When my wife falls asleep I'm leaving again.

Believe me I wanted the GT's but I already had the KO4's. Spending over $12K on the GT system won't happen for a couple of years. I will enjoy 'em for a little while, but yeah I already know you're right about trading up. Looking at the big picture, the difference was only $5K including fueling. The problem is pulling the engine and installing rods for another $XXX. Maybe next time.

Those are the kind of comments that make me want to go stage 3 so bad. You need to video tape when you take your wife for a first drive. Something tells me that video is going to be great.

She doesn't even know I did the Stage 3. I told her it was at the shop getting the heads serviced......! She drives it every now and then. I'll let her figure it out when she steps on it and I'll play dumb afterwards.

If you want a custom tune I'd recommend ASP, but if you have plane Jane k04 tune I've heard positive things about VASTs results.

All VAST tuned cars consistantly run the fastest from all other tuners...I guess that's what seperates them from the rest...real powa!

I forgot to mention the killer part of this whole deal. The K04's were installed with the engine still in the bay. He pulled the heads and manifolds off to inspect the carnage and he showed me what happened. Looking down at the turbos I thought that this would be a perfect time to swap them. Just another solution for those who are thinking of porting the stock heads and doing K04's at the same time.

I took the car out again this weekend and did some logs with Neil and he cleared the CEL, and let me feel what 25psi tapered down to 23psi feels like. DAMN DAMN and more DAMN. I have a boost leak that halted doing any more runs, but once I get to it this weekend I'll post my FATS and other logs.

I don't know how hard yours pulls, but my S4 pulls so hard that flooring it to pass someone made me fear plowing the rear of a vehicle that had been an easy 6 cars+ in front of me.

My VAST tune is flawless. The only issue I have is a rich condition exacerbated by a vacuum reservoir hose partial leak. This is on a cold day, initial startup, and warming. Long term fuel trim overcorrects.

My car pulls really hard, but I still need to get my tune dialed in because of my proprietary tune. I can't reveal any specifics yet, but once it's on point VAST is gonna be really busy selling these kind of tunes.

im still on vast old set-up as well...but not getting the updated file, till my FMIC and W/M is installed...then ill get the update file with W/M and remote tune.

The bugs that need to worked out are not from VAST. Here are the problems in no particular order. First, the injectors are facing the wrong direction on the passenger side. Second, I have a boost leak on the same side. Third, I have an exhaust leak. This has NOTHING to do with VAST, this is an installation situation that I need to take of. VAST has been on point with me and I highly recommend them.

which injectors did you go with OP?? did you go with Green Giants? Like you said they have to be oriented 90* towards the fenders they are very sensitive to the way they get positioned... I finally got mine to turn 90* it just takes some WD40 and a long flat blade screwdriver :)

oh okay nice, you went with 60# injectors... I thought the orientation of those didn't really matter or at least you can install them in stock position?? Anyways thats great man. hope you the best. you'll never be dissapointed with the team over there. soon im making a new video that old one of mine is weak and boring. only have a good opening statement.

Yep, the orientation doesn't matter according to Gil at VAST. I just found the culprit. The ignition control module is bad. I cleared the codes and swapped the modules around and the fault codes were on the other side.
