    lol
It's alright, it's good to know that people care about me/my car.
We are in the middle now and my dad doesn't want to give the car up.
I told him that the 2009 GTI's are going for $290 a month with 0 down but he wants the A4.
So I guess I'm hanna be sticking with the AZ community for a little longer.
And what I'm going to do is a get a list of thing I need.
E-codes instead of OEM headlights, FMIC instead of crappi OEM SMIC and etc...

    Re: FMIC with Stock Bumper

I have this kit and I fit it behind a S4 stock bumper (on A4), needed some trimming, and the stock side bumper grills cannot be reused, but otherwise it fit, you also need to cut a piece of you bumper rebar out to fit it. Evolution raceworks makes a kit that fits behind the stock A4 bumper with noe mods or trim (I have it on my wife's car) works well.

    Re: FMIC with Stock Bumper

    Alright cool...
and im going to have a shop do it for me.
the bumper is already off becuase of my accident so they will just put it on. and do you know roughly how much it will cost?
because they will have to cut part of the rebar.

to autobahn 88..i had a set of their hoses on my 2.7t a6 and one burst open with at least a 6 inch slice down the middle..and if i wanted a new one i had to send it to hong kong

on another note...i will say i need a fmic as yesterday my car ran great at ambient of 40 f....where as today the car felt very sluggish and noticeably slower with an ambient of 70 f

I have AWE - fits right behind stock bumper - reuse all grilles etc.
FYI apart from the summer heatsoak issue I can't see why you'd do FMIC as a mod without addressing the rest of the powertrain. Put coils and adjust the sway bars to improve the handling then save for BT or BAT + all the mods...

    Re: FMIC with Stock Bumper

With the front mount, you're paying for the R&D. AWE, Racetec, and ER all have done a lot of R&D to assure that it will fit well and perform well with no major issues. As a result, you pay more as opposed to the eBay kit. I'm not saying the eBay kit is bad, but the others are better. AWE and ER (I think) all fit w/o cutting the rebar, and Racetec includes new/modified rebar in their kit. I have an AWE, and it fits behind my stock (non-USP) bumper perfectly.

    Re: FMIC with Stock Bumper

I totally understand you... It's just I am looking to get a FMIC because my SMIC cracked from my accident.
And I don't have that much money and the eBay kit has some good reviews so I thought why not.

Depending on what brand of FMIC you are getting, but most of them will fit under the stock bumper without any modifications.

If its the same eBay kit I'm thinking of, I've seen it in person and it doesn't fit very well. So yeah it may work well, but the car I saw had the pipes sticking out past the front bumper (and yes, it was installed properly). Just browse the classifieds, you might be able to find one

    Re: FMIC with Stock Bumper

I bought an Ebay IC, an Ebay pipe/t-bolt kit, cut and fit my own piping. I made what I could with what came with the kit and then ordered a few 45 and 90* elbow to complete it, and had a MAP bung welded on.
