that hardware looks nice, i kinda wanna make one myself, instead of welding those ducts i would just cut slots or air holes. How thick is that?

Re: Teaser: Part 2 of my USP bumper treatment

I don't think cutting slots would do much for ventilation. I wanted to keep things as OEM as possible so the NACA ducts were at factory locations.

IIRC the aluminum is 1/16" or 3/32"

I agree, plus from an aero standpoint a flat underside is better for airflow under the car.
How to account for this massive success? Pure luck? Transcendental meditation? Machiavellian manipulation? Aerodynamics? High colonics? We haven't the slightest idea. -P.L. Newman

Re: Teaser: Part 2 of my USP bumper treatment

those edges look razor sharp! i'd be using leather gloves to install that thing. great idea though, so simple. my gf hit something the size of a softball in the mountains a few months ago and punctured a hole in the belly pan, thus blowing out her coolant pump as well. a metal belly pan would have saved her over $500.

Re: Teaser: Part 2 of my USP bumper treatment

one suggestion --- create a low spot where fluids can pool and put a drain there. my #1 gripe with the stock belly pan is that it's terrible for concealing leaks

i do understand wanting it though, from what i understand it SIGNIFICANTLY reduces under-hood temps.

That doesn't mean that it won't, why do you think the factory belly pan has low spots?
